An abundance of apples!

We finished our week with Apple Day!  Thank you to all the parents who donated so many apples for our special day!  In celebration of Johnny Appleseed's Birthday, the first grade team decided to have a fun day of learning that was themed around apples.  Here is a small glimpse of our day!

We started our day by making homemade applesauce!  It cooked all day in the crockpot, which made our room smell divine! Most of the students really liked it - one saying, "You're a good cooker, Ms. James!" Haha!  Love these kiddos!

Apple Taste Test

We also had a taste test of three different types of apples; red, green, and yellow!  We talked about each apple after we tasted it and made a list of adjectives describing the apples.

Yellow was the clear winner!

Tasting our homemade applesauce :)

It was also a big day for Ginger!  She had the privilege of eating lunch with our principal, Dr. Majerus!  Congratulations, Ginger!
